I just had to share in the joy of our "new toys"... finally, no more tiny bits of cheap black teflon floating around in our food!! Thank you Brent and Sam's Club!! PS: We changed our minds, we aren't going to get rid of our internet! Thank Goodness!
Yay for stainless steel cookware!! I'm so happy for you! Teflon is of the devil. In fact, it's poisonous. The DuPont website actually says that - doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the product. Glad you've made the switch. Just make sure to let your meat sit still on the pan without moving it until it gets a nice brown crust. That way, it won't stick to your pan and will be a lot easier to clean. I love stainless steel!
P.S. Definitely try that lentil soup! Use an immersion blender if you have one - less messy. I used beef broth, which gave it a heartier feel. And I just used regular lentils. Mmm, I want some now...
We bought the same set a few years ago. I LOVE it. It's definitely more work to clean and maintain the nice sheen...but worth it. Your best friend will become a copper scrub sponge thingy. ( They also have plastic ones if you're too wussy to try the "wool" on the pans. )
Oh, and you should keep a non-stick pan around for eggs. Eggs don't do well on these...particularly fried eggs...even with the non-stick spray.
Non-stick aren't bad if they're taken care of properly. If they were THAT bad, they wouldn't be able to sell them. But yeah, once they start to flake off--you want to dump 'em. They aren't exactly something you want to pass down do someone else.

Congrats on the new cookware! It's VERY fun to get new stuff!
Funny I just had Nathan take a stainless steel pot back to the store, cuz I thought the black liner was better. I didn't know it was poisonous!
Well guess we'll be going back to the store for that same stainless steel pot.
Good luck with all your cooking!

Yeah, and it depends on the quality of the teflon... a $6 pan won't last nearly as long as a $25 dollar one
