All clear

I went to my appointment yesterday and it looks like that bleeding is all cleared up. They were really surprised at how quickly it went away after getting slightly bigger last week. So I have an appointment in 2 weeks but no ultrasounds. It's killing me that we've had all these ultrasounds and still can't know the gender!! I hate waiting.

We also went by the house and it's all bricked. We took pictures even though the front of the house was a mess. And we don't want to blog any more of the inside until it's all done... it'll be more dramatic that way. For us at least. BUT all our closet shelving is in, our attic door/latter, the baseboards, door frames and doors are all in AND our cabinets are now in, although they aren't finished/painted yet. But they look awesome anyway. That's it for now!

Updates

Hello! I have a few things to blog today. First, our house now has sheet rock and our bricks have been delivered, although not yet actually on the house. We're hoping to go down on Sunday and see if it's all "bricked".

We also have our garage door!Daddy and Mariska next to the garage door and our "nitch" that will probably be home to a potted orchid.Our living room windows, "bar", and back door.Our kitchen and decorative "space" in our ceiling, we still don't know what will go in it, but it's nice to have.

I also had my appointment today. I had my ultrasound and it was so neat to see how the baby is developing. It was a little hard to get the heartbeat on the ultrasound because it kept moving. It was so cool to see... it kept putting it's little webbed hand up to it's face and when it did you could see tiny, itty bitty finger bones inside it's hand. It also "looked up" for a split second and I saw a perfectly formed tiny face. Everything is going well with the baby's growth, although my subchorionic hemorrhage has actually gotten bigger. So now I'm pretty much as close to bed rest as you can get. I can walk around to make lunch and sorts, but I can't lift Mariska and things like that. We're really praying and hoping that it will be cleared up by my next appointment (next wed) because I'm afraid if it hasn't that I might actually hear the words "bed rest" and I don't want it to come to that. I have to thank Brent for all his support and help as I can't do as much right now. It's turned out to be a big blessing that his summer job was a flop, because he is definitely needed at home. We are still completely faithful and confident that things will turn out fine. My earlier blessing did also say to listen to my doctors and work with them through the pregnancy, I guess "taking it really really easy" goes into doing that. Our home teacher is also coming tomorrow night (thurs) and I'm going to ask Brent and him to give me a blessing for the "sick", since there is actually a medical need now. We do have two home teachers, but the other is on his honeymoon this week! Anyway, that's the baby news for now... here he or she is...

Also on a really random note, I just thought this was hilarious and that I would share. If anyone is familiar with Brian Regan, you might be familiar with his bit on combining sentences.... such as "take care" and "good luck" turning into "take luck"... Brent had a funny experience at work with this very phenomenon this week. What makes it funny is keeping in mind that he's in a room with twenty 11 year olds. He accidentally combined the phrases, "you guys are driving me nuts" with "you guys are getting on my nerves" and came out with "You guys are getting on my nuts!"... I really wish I could have seen the look on his students faces! (Brent describes it as dumbfounded shock)

Not so new kids

This is almost embarrassing but I couldn't pass up posting about the New Kids On The Block reunion!! Yes I was one of the little girls that had a huge crush on the New Kids... I had shirts, pins, posters, cassettes, videos and I'll admit, even the "Donnie Doll". My sister Sarah and I would stay up watching a video that followed them on tour and we spent our time even memorizing the dances. Well, now they are back on tour and they're about 40 years old. I think it's hilarious but can't quite deny I still have a special place in my heart for Donnie Wahlberg and "Hangin Tough"... not to mention "You Got The Right Stuff". Admit it, you know the words. Turn up your speakers and sing along!

Then and Now...

Cats Out

It's so nice that the news of our pregnancy is out! I'm an open book and it's really hard for me to keep secrets, the last few weeks have been really hard for me! Our due date is Dec. 19th, so I'm 8 weeks. I'll be 9 weeks on Friday. We had our first ultrasound when I should have been 7 weeks exactly, but somehow I'm just randomly 10 days later then I should be, so I had to redo my entire 6th week! That was hard. At my last ultrasound (7 1/2 weeks) the doctor did say I had a small hemorrhage behind the placenta, which is usually nothing but can lead to miscarriage. She said it's probably nothing but to take it easy, no exercise or heavy lifting and such. We aren't too worried about it, several weeks ago, before we confirmed the heartbeat, I had a lot of anxiety about the pregnancy and getting excited about it, since I thought I was carrying a healthy baby for 2 solid months last time... so we went to our bishop and he gave me a blessing. (We thought it best if he did it, since Brent was so "close" to the situation) He said that I'd carry the baby to term and that it'd be a joy and comfort to me through out my life. He also talked about working with and following the advice of my doctors, so I want to do that exactly right. Well, we are sure excited, especially about being able to bring our new baby home to our new house, which is coming along nicely by the way!

Mariska is sure cute. She still doesn't get what's going on at all but we talk about the "baby's room" when we talk about our house. If you remember my saying, she's still on this "mine" kick... it's really funny, I'll say "Mariska, there's a baby growing in Mommy's belly"... she just gets upset and lifts her shirt and says, "It's in MY belly!" Everything has to be her's apparently. It just makes us laugh.

My Mother's Day was a box of my favorite chocolates in the world!

Normally I'm not much for mint, but these Mint Meltaways, truly do meltaway and I can't not like them.

The Raspberry Creams are a dark chocolate with the creamy center the perfect blend of sweet and tart.

I love the idea of smooth, creamy chocolate covered in more chocolate...

Brent is so awesome. These are way over priced, but he got them for me anyway and I am in Heaven! I just had to thank him for his hard work and thoughtfulness. He's started his second/summer job and is working so hard, he literally sees Mariska for about 20 minutes a day. I couldn't ask for a more selfless provider and am so proud of him and all his hard/good work!
