Cats Out

It's so nice that the news of our pregnancy is out! I'm an open book and it's really hard for me to keep secrets, the last few weeks have been really hard for me! Our due date is Dec. 19th, so I'm 8 weeks. I'll be 9 weeks on Friday. We had our first ultrasound when I should have been 7 weeks exactly, but somehow I'm just randomly 10 days later then I should be, so I had to redo my entire 6th week! That was hard. At my last ultrasound (7 1/2 weeks) the doctor did say I had a small hemorrhage behind the placenta, which is usually nothing but can lead to miscarriage. She said it's probably nothing but to take it easy, no exercise or heavy lifting and such. We aren't too worried about it, several weeks ago, before we confirmed the heartbeat, I had a lot of anxiety about the pregnancy and getting excited about it, since I thought I was carrying a healthy baby for 2 solid months last time... so we went to our bishop and he gave me a blessing. (We thought it best if he did it, since Brent was so "close" to the situation) He said that I'd carry the baby to term and that it'd be a joy and comfort to me through out my life. He also talked about working with and following the advice of my doctors, so I want to do that exactly right. Well, we are sure excited, especially about being able to bring our new baby home to our new house, which is coming along nicely by the way!
Mariska is sure cute. She still doesn't get what's going on at all but we talk about the "baby's room" when we talk about our house. If you remember my saying, she's still on this "mine" kick... it's really funny, I'll say "Mariska, there's a baby growing in Mommy's belly"... she just gets upset and lifts her shirt and says, "It's in MY belly!" Everything has to be her's apparently. It just makes us laugh.

Here's what we've got so far! So, she doesn't get upset in this video, but you get the idea!

This is my first one, at 5 1/2 weeks...

This is my last one at 7 1/2 weeks... my next one is next Wed, I'll be 9 1/2 weeks

What a comforting sweet blessing. Mariska is so cute.

Kudo's to you for being able to wait even this long and come up with such a creative way to tell your fam! You should post those pictures of Mariska with the Big Sister t-shirt! I wanna get one for Nathan Jr!! (big Brother that is).

I love the ultrasound pictures too. I think the forehead is the most prominent feature this early on. The forehead was one of the reasons I thought we were having a girl. A lot of girls get their Dad's forehead...& our girl looks like she's gonna have her Daddy's....just call me observant! I hope everything goes well in this Pregnancy too. At least you got two ultrasounds out of concern right?! Can't wait to see the next 9 1/2 week picture! Hmmm Boy or Girl??!! Does your Doctor do an ultrasound around 20weeks too?

Yeah I'll have the regular 20-22 week ultrasound later on... the first ultrasound was to see if there was in fact a baby. The second was to see if it was growing at a normal pace and my 3rd will be to see if the hemorrage has gone away, once it's gone I don't think I'll get any "extra" ultrasounds! too bad, I love them!

ps: I got the shirt at www.cafepress.com.. you can just search "big brother" or "going to be big brother" there are a ton!

Congrats!! I'm so glad this is working out, and I can't wait to meet the little one! I have a fabulous list of names already picked out for him: Rudegard, Mortimer, Beauregard...

What a cute little peanut lookin' thing.

Oh, and lovin' the name Beauregard. That kid wouldn't get picked on at ALL on the playground.
