Family Home Evening
We are seriously lacking in the Family Home Evening department. I never think to plan anything, and when I do, it's not until right before we go to bed and I put it off until the next day, when I inevitably forget again. I want so badly to be good at it. I want our girls to grow up having Family Home Evening on a regular basis. I've found some cute "LDS web sites" that have a lot of ideas. Brynley still isn't letting me sleep all that much, but it's been so long that I just have to get over it and stop using it as an excuse to not do anything, like work out and all the other stuff I need to do, like plan FHE. With this last weekend being General Conference, I've had my semi-annual boost of enthusiasm to live my life better. The twice a year we have General Conference are more powerful for me then any sort of New Year resolution craze. The last couple days I have had many of those moments when you get slapped in the face with the realization of just how old and grown up your baby is. I can't believe Mariska is almost 3 1/2! It makes me so sad when I realize I hardly remember her being a baby, it's hard to realize that she's the same baby I had 3 years ago. I almost feel like she's some other kid and that baby was just some kid I babysat a long time ago. Anyway, so that's my new goal: start and stick to Family Home Evening and taking the time to be more proactive in the gospel, namely reading my scriptures and saying regular prayers. I hope these web sites make coming up with things a little easier! So, that's my resolution. I want to be this family:

Good goal! I agree. Conference gives me more of a push than N.Y. resolutions.
I wish you lots of luck. Let me know if you find any good ideas for young kids.
Hey sorry I haven't been on your blog for so long. You've got lots of fun stuff on here though.
Mariska's pool pictures are fun & the comparison baby pictures.
We were just thinkin of finally starting F.H.E. (which we should of been doing even when we didn't have kids). I think it is hard to do extra projects when you've got a baby under 1yr in the house though. Our friend Saundra gave us some of those pictures that you stick on a "velvet" (or whatever) a velvet board & tell a bible story that way. So that'll be fun. Well "Go you guys!" having F.H.E. regularly is a great goal!
Oh & those Video's are so so so cute & precious. I think thats the first time I've seen her so animated & cooing too!
This was a challenge for me as well in the beginning. It gets easier. Just remember:short, sweet, to the point, food. HA, HA! Actually, make music be a huge part of it - kids respond to it so much more that lecturing. Let Mariska "help" with teaching the lessons.
