SCHOOL'S OUT!

We are so excited!! Wednesday was the last day of school for Brent's students!! He has to go in and get some things done on Friday (6/6), but then he's done for 9 weeks!! It is so nice that he's got the summer off!!
Here are a couple pictures of his 2 classes together... the second picture he said, "How do you feel about me?" So some of the kids have thumbs up, thumbs down and some have the "loser" symbol... he has a pretty playful tone in his room, so it's not bad... We are going to be moving on June 28th and then he's starting work on the yard right away. We're so excited to get the yard functional for Mariska. We can't wait until the grass is in enough to go out and kick around a soccer ball with her! We're also eager to get her swing set put in, but aren't sure just when that will be happening yet. It all depends on how much the yard costs first!
We drove to the house today and our counters have been installed! They look SWEET! We are so excited for our kitchen. We love it and are so excited that we were able to pick our own colors and designs.

Today Mariska's playgroup went to the "splash fountains" at an outside mall in Cedar Hill. She had a great time and we got soaked! It was a great turnout, there were lots of moms there to talk and plenty of kids her age. I feel a bit guilty, even though I greased her up with sunscreen before we left, I guess it wasn't enough. She got a bit sunburned on her shoulders, back and forehead. It's not a bad one though, she doesn't even notice it. The one on her forehead is pretty funny though, because you can tell where the sunscreen was and wasn't. Apparently I didn't put it high enough on her widow's peak... it's just a big line across her head. I forgot about myself and came back a little burned on my neck and arms, as I was wearing a t-shirt. But it was a great day. It was the longest her playgroup has ever lasted. The first to arrive were at about 10:45 and the last to leave left at 1:15, not bad for free entertainment.

Just a little glimpse into the brain of Sarah
"Counters? What are they counting?"

100 degrees!? Crapola! You'll have to get a Slip-n-slide for your new yard!! Those are the best.

What color are you counters?

Ok, so I deleted my comment. It was awesome, but you know...

Anyways - glad you have him home for a while and keep on splashin' Mariska!

I did go in with her after a while, we just didn't get pictures.

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could install a pop-up fountain thingy in your own driveway! Someone should go into business doing that.

That would be awesome! I'll have to suggest that to Brent when he does our patio! I don't think it would be in our budget though... but it would be so cool!

My kids got burned too (and I felt guilty)! Someone needs to invent super-duper sunscreen that washes off after 10 days or something.
