I hate not being able to post pictures!!

I have to apologize for how boring the blog is without pictures!! I'm going nuts!

Hi Mary, welcome to our blog! I was excited to see your comment... we were going to name her Kaydence but after we had our ultrasound and it was for sure a girl, Kaydence just wasn't fitting right and we began to like it less and less. So we started thinking of what else we liked and came up with Brynley... We've made a compromise on the spelling... I liked Brynlee, but Brent didn't as much. So, we are going to go with Brynley, because that's what Brent liked, but I get to pick the middle name. So it's a win/win, considering he was driving me crazy for days suggesting stupidly ridiculous things that would never be an option... like Shasta and Radiator. So we realized we needed a compromise to the situation before I killed him. I haven't decided on the middle name as of yet though.

This is going to sound terrible, but we are both really excited that Brent is going back to work this week!! While it sounds like we just don't like being around each other, that's not the case. We've had a great summer and our house is finally settled! The next steps are getting rain gutters put up on the back and getting Brynley's room put together. Although I'm not going to do much with her room for a while, Brent's parents are coming to visit in October and we want to leave the closet and drawer available to them. But we're both eager for Brent to go back to work for the structure and routine it brings. Not to mention once school gets going he can do tutoring and Saturday school and get paid overtime! I'm eager for the structure and it also means that playgroups and story time at the library will be starting back up again.

My birthday was great! Thank you to everyone for your 'Happy Birthdays'! And a special thanks to everyone who sent things, we've put it all to good use and my gift this year was a sewing machine! I'm extremely scared of it and don't have the first clue how to use it, but I have a whole library to help me out and am excited to learn a new skill, especially one that can save us money!! My first task is going to be to mend the pile of clothes we've stacked up for "when I get a sewing machine" and then I'll be trying my hand at curtains.
We also spent the day at IKEA and had lunch there as well. We got Mariska a few new things and will save a couple of them for Christmas. We also have found 2 nice resale stores for children and we've gotten a few things needed for the new baby. So for Christmas this year Brynley will be getting a changing table pad and a baby monitor! Not to mention life and home made milk. Maybe not too exciting but it's within our budget, she won't know the difference and she is lucking out, if she were born on the 26th she wouldn't be getting anything!

Speaking of playgroups and library days... Mariska is so eager to make friends. I always feel so lonely for her and really wish we'd had our 2nd baby a lot earlier... but I was overjoyed this weekend when she got invited to her very first party!!! I literally teared up out of gratitude that they thought of her! It's going to be on August 30th and I'm so excited!! She will be too but I'm not telling her about it until the 29th.

That's it for now! Our house is really great and we're looking to plan a party soon (heads up Mary!) and we're just all geared up to move on with the year with Brent going back to work and are getting so excited for the holidays that come so soon after!

I have another "saving gas" tip. Drive naked - you'll make your car load lighter.

I'm sure your boys love it when you pick them up from school!

Ewwww! It was bad enough this summer when they saw me in a bathing suit for the first time in two years.

Erika, don't you sleep with earplugs? What's with the baby monitor?

We decided we needed one for after she's not in our room, it'll be kinda hard to hear her and it was at the resale store for $8 so we grabbed it. And that way if she's napping I can still take Mariska outside too.
