"Why is everyone shouting?"

Brynley just had her surgery!! We checked into the hospital at 6:15AM and we spent about an hour before the nurses started to mess with her. She was playing fine in her little gown and crib, but the second she saw a stethoscope, it was all over. She hates anyone touching her at all. Even the cool new forehead thermometers are to much for her to handle.
So they just left her alone and let me give her an oral sedative. After about 20 minutes she was feeling good!! She refused to lay down and would tip over every now and then. It was pretty funny to watch.
Around 8:00 they took her back and I went into the waiting area. I read for about 20 minutes and then the doctor came out and told me she did fine. He said that her ear drums not only had fluid, but that it was very thick and sludgy fluid. So, I am very happy we were able to get her the surgery she needed.
They called me back to recovery, were she was showing all the nurses just how healthy her lungs are. We sat there for a while and sipped apple juice and then it was time to go.
I can tell a huge difference in her! She is SO alert and reacting to things like she's been in a coma for 6 months. Anytime I say anything to her she gets super excited and start flapping her arms in the strange way only Brynley knows how... I can't wait for her to talk!!

Hooray! I'm glad the surgery went well and even more glad that she'll get to hear stuff from now on!
